Casey Affleck is an Academy Award-winning actor, director, and animal rights activist. His film credits include Manchester By the Sea (2016), Good Will Hunting (1997), and Gone Baby Gone (2007). Caleb Casey McGuire Affleck-Boldt was born on August 12, 1975, in Falmouth, Massachusetts. His father, Tim, was a social worker, and his mother Chris Ann, an elementary school teacher. He has an older brother, Ben, who’s also an actor. Affleck grew up in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he attended Cambridge Rindge and Latin School. He also studied briefly at George Washington University followed by Columbia University.

Affleck’s early acting credits include Lemon Sky (1998), To Die For (1995), and Race the Sun (1996). He portrayed young Robert F. Kennedy in the ABC miniseries, The Kennedys of Massachusetts (1990). Affleck held a supporting role as “Morgan O’Mally” in Good Will Hunting (1997) starring Robin Williams and Matt Damon. He followed up with more prominent roles in Desert Blue (1998) with Kate Hudson, 200 Cigarettes (1999) with Dave Chappelle, and Committed (2001) with Heather Graham.

Affleck was cast as “Virgil Malloy” in George Clooney’s Ocean’s Eleven in 2001. The role was reprised in Ocean’s Twelve (2004) and Ocean’s Thirteen (2007). Affleck gained further popularity for his portrayal of “Robert Ford” in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007).
